At Paperhugz, we’ve always believed that a card should feel like a hug — something warm, personal and genuinely special. Our handmade Handpress Cards do that beautifully in the physical world. But what about when you need to send something right now? When the birthday is today, when the baby just arrived, when someone needs cheering up this very moment?
That’s why we built Hugz on Screen.
What is Hugz on Screen?
Hugz on Screen is a brand new way to send a greeting card — one that arrives on their phone as a full-screen cinematic video, personalised with their name and your message.
These aren’t generic animated GIFs or old-fashioned ecards. Each Hugz on Screen card is an AI-generated video — think swirling galaxies, glowing candles in grand ballrooms, golden puppies running through magical flower fields, or a stork delivering a new baby through soft clouds. Cinematic, beautiful, and unlike anything your recipient has seen in a message before.
How does it work?
It couldn’t be simpler:
- Choose your design from our growing range of occasions
- Tell us the details — recipient’s name, your personal message, and your mobile number
- We create your personalised video and send you the link via SMS, usually within a few hours
- You forward it via WhatsApp, iMessage or Messenger — whatever you use
- They tap the link and a full-screen video plays on their phone
No app. No login. No complicated steps. Just a cinematic moment that arrives in seconds.
Our launch designs
We’re launching with six stunning designs, with more coming soon:
🎂 Birthday — Cosmic Celebration — An exploding birthday cake in a swirling candy-land galaxy. Dramatic, joyful and utterly unforgettable.
🐶 Birthday — Puppy Garden — A golden puppy running through a magical flower field with rainbow balloons and a glowing “Happy Birthday” sky. Pure joy.
👶 New Baby Girl — A stork arriving through soft pink clouds with golden light rays. She’ll cry the best kind of tears.
👶 New Baby Boy — The same magical stork delivery in soft blue tones, with sparkling stardust trailing behind.
💕 Anniversary — A grand ballroom with a galaxy ceiling, champagne glasses clinking, and rose petals falling on marble floors. Romance perfected.
🌺 Get Well Soon — Beautiful Australian native proteas and eucalyptus in warm golden light. Warm, uplifting and unmistakably Australian.
Why we built this
We looked at what existed — ecards you have to log into, generic GIFs, digital gift cards — and none of it felt special. Nobody was doing AI-generated cinematic video delivered straight to a phone as a personalised greeting card.
So we built it.
Hugz on Screen fills a gap that didn’t exist until now. It’s not a replacement for a physical card — nothing replaces the feeling of holding something handmade. But sometimes you need to send a hug instantly, and now you can.
How much does it cost?
Just $3.99 AUD per card during our launch period. Each card includes full personalisation, SMS delivery to your phone, and a link that stays live for 60 days.
